These Terms govern your use of the Encage U apps and services (the "Service"). By creating an
account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our
Privacy Policy.
1. What Encage U is
Encage U is a marketplace that connects customers with independent local service providers.
Encage U is not the employer of providers and does not itself perform the services. Providers are independent
contractors responsible for the work they agree to do.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be 18 or older and able to form a binding contract.
- Sign-in is by mobile number and one-time password (OTP). Keep your device and number secure.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (name, address, contact, and — for
providers — verification documents and trade).
3. How the marketplace works
- A customer posts a job; nearby providers receive it and may send quotes.
- The customer chooses a provider and engages the job.
- Payment can be made directly to the provider or in-app. A platform reference
fee of 5% applies to in-app payments.
- Providers may take a limited number of free leads, after which a paid membership/subscription is required.
4. Payments, fees & payouts
- In-app payments are processed by our payment processor (Razorpay). Provider payouts of in-app net balances
are made after admin review.
- Direct (cash/UPI) amounts settled between customer and provider are outside the app and are shown for the
provider's records only; they are not part of the in-app payout balance.
- The 5% platform fee is non-refundable except where required by law or where a job is cancelled before work
begins per our refund handling.
5. Cancellations & refunds
Cancellation and refund outcomes depend on the stage of the job and provider agreement. Refund requests are
reviewed by Encage U; approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
6. Your responsibilities
- Provide safe, lawful access and accurate job information.
- Do not misuse the Service, post unlawful content, harass others, or attempt to defraud.
- Providers must hold any licences required for their trade and comply with applicable law and safety norms.
7. Verification badge
A "verified" badge indicates a provider submitted documents that passed our review. It is a trust signal, not a
guarantee of work quality or outcome. Use your own judgement when engaging any provider.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Encage U is not liable for the acts,
omissions, quality, or outcome of services performed by independent providers, or for indirect or consequential
losses. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, engage in fraud or abuse, or create risk for other
users. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept
the updated Terms.
